Pegholes plugged and reamed. Two pegs original and four made by me to match.. This work was necessary because the pegholes had been drilled out so that tuning machines on a metal baseplate could be fitted. the tuning machines had then been removed causing the pegs to be inoperable.
 
 
3 Pictures above showing the backplate which is very dirty and woodwormed. Middle picture following cleaning and showing one of two new braces necessary becuse the originals could not be reglued because of woodworm. The picture on the right has a cleat and a patch which is set into half the thiockness of the back. This was necessary because of woodworm damage in the area which is glued to the end block.
